Welcome Home is the first KCS Experience mix, made for Experience #1: Friends In The Mix.

That dinner set the pattern: friends in the kitchen, chicken tagine on the stove, a bottle of Campo Viejo Rioja open, and music mixed live while the evening found its shape.

The cover is inspired by Voyager 1's Pale Blue Dot, the small white point just above the letter O, captured as the spacecraft looked back at Earth from the edge of our solar system. It is a quiet reminder of how small we are, and of the idea Voyager carried with it: that music is one of the few things that might make sense wherever it ends up.

That thought sits at the heart of Kitchen Counter Sessions. Music, food and friends. Simple things, but the ones that seem to matter most.

The mix opens with Self Control by Eelke Kleijn and Lee Cabrera, which felt like the right way to ease into the night. From there it moves through melodic techno and familiar records in new forms, then loosens into lighter house and pop for the room after dinner.

Use it for the moment KCS usually does: cooking, clearing plates, pouring another glass, or letting people stay a little longer.
